mAlice & Monsters
is an unparalleled tribute to the originator of shock
rock, Alice Cooper
Naturally, you would expect more than just music at
this kind of show and the group doesn't disappoint.
A mAlice & Monsters show recreates the theatrics, blood, sound and fury of a Cooper concert, with ghoulish props, audience interaction, sexy women, murder and much more on the menu.
Backed by a rock-solid band capable of capturing all the nuances of any song by the Master, Ken Lecompte
recreates the look and sound of Alice better than anyone who wasn't born Vincent Damon Furnier.
You will be astounded by the energy and mezmerized by
the performance as the stunning (and stunningly cruel) Nurse Kitty engages Alice in a back-and-forth battle of wills--but only one of them can emerge victorious, though slightly damaged (and more-than-slightly demented!!!)

Ken is the founding member of mAlice & Monsters... He has been singing in local area bands for 24 years. His stage experience is key when it comes to working a crowd. Ken is a very versatile vocalist who really knows how to make each cover his own... Ken also plays acoustic guitar, and dabbles with the keyboard as well...
Influences include Alice Cooper, Led Zeppelin, Styx, The Doobie Brothers, and The Guess Who...
|

An experienced bassist with a number of diverse, successful bands over the last three decades, Fred is also a novelist, graphic artist and songwriter. His basses include a 1978 Yamaha BB1200 and a 2005 Rickenbacker 4003, with amplification by Ampeg: an SVT Classic with 810e and 410HLF cabinets.
|

A veteran of the Ottawa rock band circuit, Brian is excited to be returning
to play with Gamut and mAlice & Monsters. Playing guitar for more years
than he wants to say, or can remember, Brian provides solid rhythm and
lead through an assortment of guitars. Like most guitarists, Brian supports "tone rules" through his Strat, Les Paul, SG or the double necked monster,
all pumped through his Fender Deville and Marshall amps. Learning he
craft, Brian's influences include Joe Walsh, Steve Perry, Jimmy Page,
Tommy Shaw, Michael Bruce and Glen Buxton (Alice Cooper Band), Neil
Schon,
Martin Barre, Clapton and the great Steve Vai.
|
|
|

Chris has been playing drums for over 25 years, and is one of Gamut's original members, forming the band many moons ago with Ken, the band's lead singer. He is excited to be back with Gamut after a 3 year hiatus from the group. During that time, he kept himself busy with another band - "Unglued", Ottawa's official Stone Temple Pilots tribute act... He currently plays a 6 pc. Gretsch Catalina Maple in a cherry finish, uses Sabian & Zildjian cymbals, Head Hunters AAA drumsticks, Shure & CAD microphones, and EV for monitors. Chris is a big fan of John Bonham, which shines through in his playing style. Other influences include Ian Paice (Deep Purple), Bun E. Carlos (Cheap Trick), and Eric Kretz (STP).

Thanks to everyone who came out to Tucsons to help us start off
the first mAlice & Monsters show of the New Year!!! It was nice to
see, when that curtain opened, all the new faces and of course, the
familiar ones...
We have been adding to the show, with more songs, theatrics, stunts
and props to keep it interesting and different for our regular followers
and captivating for our new ones as well...
A BIG THANKS for all the nice inspirational words and and we really
hope you know how much it is appreciated!!
A HUGE welcome to all our new GAMUT/mAlice & Monsters facebook
members!!

January 3rd 2010-A mALICE & MONSTERS NEW YEAR!!!
Well first off, we would like to thank everyone for a really fun year!!Our
Alice Cooper tribute show has been so much fun for us!! This show all
started at the Carleton Tavern as a Halloween gimmick last year, and
14 months later, has turned into a full theatrical rock opera... and only
because of the demand and interest it has received from you our fans,
friends and the clubs who have shown theirs. We continue to expand
the show, adding more stage props and songs... we look forward to a
busy 2010 and appreciate the positive feedback from you all thus far...
Thank you so much and have a great and safe 2010.....GAMUT
September 15th, 2009—The latest 'Monster'...
We are very pleased to welcome Laurent "Lo" Lapierre to the band
as our new guitar player. Lo has a long history of playing diverse
music in the nation's capital and brings with him not only unparalled
guitar-solo capability, but a ridicuously huge collection of guitars.
Our thanks to Brian for his long service and stellar musicianship
and best wishes on his future musical endeavours.
August 18, 2009 - New name, same attitude! As we continued
to develop the Alice Cooper tribute part of the GAMUT act
(AKA "the Dark Side"), it became obvious to us that there was a
need to differentiate between the two distinct parts of our split
personality. Hence "mAlice & Monsters" was born. The name is a
reference to an Alice Cooper album "Mascara and Monsters", with
a little twist to reinforce just who it is we are paying homage to! We
wanted a name that better reflected the show itself and also felt it
important to develop a separate web presence from GAMUT and,
well, this name was available! For all you GAMUT fans out there
(and we know who all three of you are), have no fear—GAMUT
will continue on, as busy as ever, and will frequently make an
appearance as mAlice & Monsters' opening act. Big things are
happening for us and we expect to have plenty of news to report in
this section of our website. Special thanks go out to our loyal supporters
and we look forward to growing the show to give you an even better experience in the future. - Ken, Brian, Robin, Paul and Fred...
July 9, 2009 - Cajun Attic Unusual for us to be playing on a
Thursday, but the Cajun Attic in the market got the boys (and girl)
from GAMUT/G-ALICE off the couch and into full make-up for their
opening night at Ottawa's newest hot spot. Thanks to George and
Matt for having us out and even with the long flight of stairs(Ouch),
a great time was had by all. We look forward to our return in
September.
Maybe not the stairs though...
July 3, 2009 - Greenfields Pub Another packed house at
Greenfields to witness our Tribute to Alice Cooper. It was great
to hear the many comments from the folks at Greenfields that our
show brought back memories from when they saw the true King of
ShockRock himself and our Tribute had captured the music and stage
showof the King. Big thanks to Lars, Morris and all the folks at
Greenfields for their great hospitality and we look forward to our
return in November.
June 11, 2009-Lone Star Texas Grill Thank you all for coming out to
spend an evening with Alice, Gamut, the Perrier & Birtch Jam and Cl!ck. We
were told by the staff that they had not seen a Thursday as busy as it was
and they wished that they had more staff to handle the crowd on hand. The
first set was awesome with the Perrier & Birtch Jam band getting the crowd
going with acoustic versions of some great tunes. Ozzy's Crazy Train and
Paranoid were a definated hit with the crowd. Ozzy unplugged... WOW!!!
Around 9:00 Cl!ck hit the stage. If you have not seen this band, you have
to check them out. Excellent musicians all round. These guys (and girl)
are definately going to be big in the band circuit.
Next.... ALICE!
Lights dimmed....
Silence in the room....
Anticipation....
A wall of sound hit the room with HELLO, HURRAY,
LET THE SHOW BEGIN....
What followed was truly ALICE, The noose was waiting and ALICE
was hung but as a real trooper, he came back but was met by Nurse
Bitsie who decided that this demented maniac belonged in a straight
jacket and severly medicated. Poor Nurse Bitsie never knew what hit
her as ALICE escaped...
When ALICE left the room, GAMUT hit the stage and served up a variety
of dance tunes to fill the dance floor. A great night was had by all and was
only made possible by the many fans and friends of Gamut, Cl!ck and the
Perrier & Birtch Jam band.
Thanks again for your tremendous support and we look forward to seeing
you in the near future...
